Gabrail Cancer Center is happy to announce the opening of the new phase 1 clinical trials unit. The unit is fully functional and ready to house patients for more in depth clinical trials. The phase 1 unit is already being utilized for a trial requiring patients to remain in it for a week at a time. Boasting 16 rooms, a kitchen, and a large common area with many entertainment options, the state of the art unit is prepared to take on many upcoming trials.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\"\" main focus of the unit will be healthy volunteer clinical trials. These trials will be made up of healthy patients that are interested in participation, many of them offer compensation for the volunteers that are a part of them. We look forward to expanding this program and offering many more studies.<\/span><\/p>\n

GABRAIL CANCER CENTER RESEARCH LLC (\u201cGCCR\u201d)<\/strong> – Announced today its plan to open a<\/em><\/span>
\nPhase 1 Unit for healthy volunteers.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Canton, Ohio, February 2019<\/strong> \u2013 GABRAIL CANCER CENTER RESEARCH LLC (\u201cGCCR\u201d) announced\"\"<\/span>
\ntoday its plan to open a Phase 1 clinical research unit for healthy volunteers. GCCR is building on its success<\/span>
\nin clinical research by opening the six-bed facility. The unit will be integrated with its already-existing 30chair<\/span>
\noutpatient clinic and research facility. GCCR said the plans are underway and the unit will be open in<\/span>
\nmid-March.<\/span><\/p>\n

The site\u2019s facilities include pharmacy and drug storage, an on-site clinical laboratory and EKG systems. The<\/span>
\ncenter is paperless, using a customized electronic medical record system with bi-directional interfaces to<\/span>
\ntheir clinical lab. It also has an on-site retail pharmacy and radiology center. The research center has<\/span>
\nconducted more than 200 Phase I studies and more than 500 Phase II-IV oncology studies.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur experienced staff provides expert delivery of services to safely and efficiently manage early-phase<\/span>
\nstudies including; first-in-human, proof of concept, maximum tolerated dose studies (MTD), food-effect<\/span>
\npharmacokinetics & pharmacodynamics studies, drug-drug interaction (DDI), bioequivalence, biosimilar,<\/span>
\nbone-marrow harvest, skin biopsies, and specific patient populations,\u201d said Carrie Smith R.N., Chief Operations Officer.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n

The current expansion announced is a reaction to the needs expressed by the biotech and pharmaceutical<\/span>
\nindustries requiring additional bed capacity with overnight observation, and frequent blood and body fluid<\/span>
\nsample collections. There is an increasing demand for such services and GCCR is well positioned to meet<\/span>
\nsuch needs, considering the vast experience the center has had over the last two decades, complimented with<\/span>
\na cadre of clinical and support staff. What makes the center unique is that the clinical research coordinators,<\/span>
\ndata management specialists, and other research staff work alongside the rest of the care team every day.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur philosophy is prompt, accurate, accountable and cost-effective services. GCCR has gained national<\/span>
\nrecognition in efficient execution of contracts followed by efficient completion of the projects. Time is of the<\/span>
\nessence for new drug developers, accelerating the early stages of drug development translates into shorter<\/span>

GCCR is fortunate to have seven colleges and universities within a twenty-mile radius in Stark County and<\/span>
\nthe surrounding areas. This is a great resource for healthy volunteers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds,<\/span>
\nsince this region’s ethnic mix is a mirror image of the ethnic distribution of the United States.\"\"<\/span><\/p>\n
